Back to School

Today was my (Jeff) first day at Middle Georgia Technical Institute (MGT) in Warner Robins in pursuit of an FAA - Aircraft and Powerplant License (A&P). An A&P license allows me to maintain, inspect, and return aircraft to service as airworthy, and is a requirement for missionary pilots. I have already completed 2 quarters toward this goal at Middle Georgia Aviation in Eastman. You may ask - "How is it you were in Eastman, and now WR?" Good question; one which deserves an answer, but that would be "back-blogging"; is that allowed? Stay tuned... Anyway, attending class full-time, I anticipate completion in five more quarters, taking the FAA exam in August of 2009. Going back to school, where the average student age is 18-20, has been rather challenging (...in many ways). MGT requires that I purchase tools, and that's gonna be really tough on me...snap-on, craftsman, SK, or Matco? It's a guy-thing.

I have some older Fisher Price tools... would they help? It has the work bench and all in one neatly organized box.

Sure, send'em over. Bo and Whitney love helping me work on things!

Hi Jeff,

It's Suzanne Slade Camp. Laura just called and said you had been the Sunday School teacher for her daughter, today. How interesting! I often wondered what happened to you. I don't know if we ever saw you after that time you and your friend stayed with us after an FSU football game. It wasn't Rick who was with you,but I don't recall who it was. Laura didn't remembe that incident. I reminded her that she'd probably blocked it out, as she had a big fight with her boyfriend whom I had to kick out of the house that night, as I recall! Anyway, I was glad to hear an update on you and your family. I'm living just south of Tallahassee in Crawfordville. I have been married to Bryan for 15 years and have a son, Casey who is 11 and a daughter, Brianne, who is 8. I have been teaching Physical Science at the local high school for 12 years. This year, I'll be teaching all Chemistry Classes, take on the role of Science depatment chair, and sponsor the National Honor Society. In addition, I do the book keeping for my husband's lawn care business on the side. (He's an elementary P.E. coach as well.) Pray for me to be able to handle it all this year. I haven't taught Chemistry since 1995, so I'm feeling a little rusty! For the past 3 years, two other teachers and I have taken groups of students to see the world--Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and we just returned from the British Isles a month ago. That's what is keeping me busy! We go to an interdenominational church called the River of Life. www.theriveroflife.org
That's my life in a nutshell. Suzanne
